Abstract
Cordage specimens (nylon 66, polyester, polypropylene, aramid, and acrylic) were exposed to varying conditions including full weathering, sunlight only, and immersion in water at 20°C for one year. Changes in stress-strain curves were observed. While curves for weathered nylon and aramid were considerably truncated, acrylic yarns showed the least change from weathering but the most change from long-term immersion in water. -- AATA
