Abstract
Because of the technical importance of rusting, the corrosion of iron and its alloys have been widely investigated by MS. Since the first papers in 1967-68, lots of papers have been published in this field. Here, we intend to survey several of these publications. The corrosion studies to be outlined will be classified as follows: (a) oxidation of iron; (b) atmospheric corrosion of iron.
