Abstract
Inhibition of corrosion by 0.12, 0.5, and 1.0 g/1 of benzotriazole in aqueous solutions of acids, alkalies, salts, soap and dissolved gases on the corrosion of zinc was studied. It was effective with 1 g/1 concentration in all solutions except the acidic, in which the corrosion rate increased. Stimulated corrosion was observed when zinc was dipped in hot water prior to exposure. -- AATA
