Presents the first phase of restoration of a small 18th-century harpsichord. The soundboard was warped and cracked and required the most care. Careful attention was paid to keeping the instrument's documentary value intact when consolidation operations were performed, following cleaning, insect disinfestation, and waxing. An outline was taken of the shape of the soundboard prior to dismounting it for flattening and filling in the gaps. The work to be done during a proposed second intervention, when it will be restrung, will concern the instrument's acoustical qualities and its decoration.
