Discusses the problem of the safety of the pastel layer during the washing of pastel drawings on the suction table. It deals with the macroscopic structures of paper and pastel layers and the mechanisms of fluid flow through these structures. Tests were carried out on six samples washed on the suction table to investigate the mechanisms and degree of damage.
