The design and construction of polyester film (5 mil) book supports is described. Cheap, quick to make and virtually invisible in use, these are now preferred to two piece book cradles in binder's board and book cloth, which takes much longer to construct. Initially used for small books, by the addition of museum board (4ply) supports, the book support has been used for items up to 11 pounds (c. 5Kg) in weight.
