Describes restoration of a 4th century Roman lead and a 5th century Hun bronze urn. The surface of the Hun urn is divided by protruding ornamental and reinforcing ribs. Earlier the urn was restored by riveting on forged copper plate profiles. This was not removed. The restoration of the ribbed edges was done with bronze castings made of molds taken from the undamaged parts. The Roman urn was heavily damaged, crumpled and covered with a thin layer of carbonatesilicate type. The defects were corrected by hammering. A minimum restoration of reinforce-ment character was finally accepted. A frame was made of copper hinges, the restoration itself with an epoxy resin called EPOREZIT mixed with other materials and pigments. A missing pattern was completed through replication of the soundest parts. Ancient lacunae were not restored. See also AATA 16-194.
