Resin, because of its versatility, is an important medium available to the sculptor today. With minimal equipment and experience, resin can be successfully cast in various fashions ranging from opaque fiberglass reinforced hollow castings to transparent solid volumes. The potential for personal experimentation is immense in that almost any material can be added to resin as a filler. Various commercial sculpture casting firms have experienced great success using pulverized metal as a filler. When mixed with resin and cast into a mold, pulverized or powdered metal closely resembles foundry cast metal.
