Collection bags are made of textile and/or leather sewn onto a ring of iron, or copper or silver plated copper. The ring has a socket for the wooden handle. The collection bag here discussed comes from Arby church, Småland (Sweden) and is made of fully embroidered linen. The bag and the leather interior were washed in water with Hostapon T and the silver embroidery brushed with Marseille soap. The bag was given an internal cushion covered with unbleached union linen and a cover of unbleached satin. The iron hup was cleaned with EDTA and by microblasting and the silver parts with Goddard's silver foam and scraped with soap bark and water. Another collection bag from Arby church in satin was restored in the same manner.
