Abstract
The pigment Egyptian blue was identified in the inscription on an Egyptian alabaster jar dating from Dynasty XII (1991-1783 BC). X-ray fluorescence, electron diffraction, and polarized light microscopy were used to identify the pigment. The article contains a brief review of the composition and manufacture of Egyptian blue. -- AATA
