Abstract
Today, EPA is promulgating a new rule, 40 CFR Part 158 which specifies the kinds of data and information that must be submitted to EPA to support the registration of each pesticide under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). EPA uses the submitted data and information to make regulatory judgments with respect to the safety of each pesticide proposed for registration or experimental use. By promulgating Part 158, EPA will provide pesticide registrants with explicit instruction concerning the data requirement and therefore will enable more efficient pesticide development and registration.
