Presents details of an inexpensive series of experiments to determine, at the microscopic level, whether the stain on a fabric is blood and if so whether it is human blood. First presumptive tests are done to determine whether the stain is blood. These include leucomalachite green, phenolphthalein, and luminol. Confirmatory tests use the Teichmann and the Takayama crystal tests. Full details of the preparation of reagents, controls, and the procedure are given. -- AATA
