Abstract
Nine amber finds from the early medieval stronghold Opole (near Wroclaw, formerly Breslau in the province of Silesia) were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy. The finds range in date from the late 10th to the late 12th centuries IADI. Eight were identified as Baltic amber (succinite); the ninth was too weathered to permit identification. -- AATA
