Abstract
The cause of fiber damage in a used textile may be due to either chemical or physical means, or to a combination of both. Two analytical instruments that can be of assistance in ascertaining the cause and type of fiber damage, the scanning electron microscope and thermal analyzers, are discussed. -- AATA
