Abstract
During the dyeing of raw cotton, considerable amounts of calcium enter the dyebath. If no calcium-binding agent is used in dyeing raw cotton in an alkaline bath, deposits of calcium salts may form which exercise a negative influence on the dyeing and further processing properties of the yarn. -- AATA
