Discussion of dimensional stability as it affects tailored garments of woven wool fabrics. Four types of shrinkage are described: relaxation shrinkage, hygral expansion, locked press, and fusing press shrinkage. Theoretical aspects, practical implications for the finisher and manufacturer, and quality control of dimensional stability are discussed.
