A number of rugs bear Armenian inscriptions and/or dates, and these are of considerable help to scholars in helping to establish their correct attribution. This also permits the identification of associated designs, dyes, techniques, materials, etc. specific to Armenian rugs. These associations permit the identification as Armenian, of rugs even without inscription. The inscriptions are described. -- AATA
