Abstract
C14 dating of maize found in Huarmey, Peru gave 3750 ± 100 years B.P. This implies maize cultivation in pre-ceramic Peru at ca. 4000 years ago. Abundant maize cobs, stalk and tassel material was recovered at the Los Gavilares site. -- AATA
