Abstract
The protection which benzotriazole gives to cleaned copper and copper alloys is due to the polymeric chains, which reinforce the oxide film. A similar protection is likely to take place on slightly corroded bronzes. If the object is heavily chloride-attacked, small amounts of benzotriazole will not give satisfactory protection, but concentrated amounts may work.
