Mounted implements consisting of stone flakes set into balls of mastic with bone or horn handles were x-rayed to provide information on the method of hafting. X-rays showed one piece to have a replacement handle. The construction, with the blade not supported directly by the handle, seems typical of the later Stone Age. -- AATA
