Abstract
Native and false hairs as well as the tendon of a female cadaver buried ca. 2100 years ago, which was excavated from the Han Tomb No. 1, Hunan Province, China, have been studied with x-ray fiber diffraction. The conformations of alpha-keratin and collagen and the basic longi-tudinal period of these fibrous protein molecular chains were preserved in these specimens but the aggregations of fibrous molecules were altered somewhat. -- AATA
