Abstract
Along the history, varied materials have been used on the elaboration of fillers for the reposition of lacks in archaeological ceramics. Nowadays, the new materials research offers innumerable products to the field of restoration, being that traditional products replaced. On this article the comparative study of two types of materials has been carried out: a traditional one as plaster is and another commercial one product powder used since two decades ago to replace the first one. After preparing several batches, those were subject to accelerated ageing conditions (humidity – desiccation, ultraviolet light and SO2 saturated atmosphere), being analyzed with several physical-chemical tests. From the obtained results we conclude that both materials have the same behaviour, so the choice between them will be decided on the easy use and application of the product by not for its long term ageing, nor for its incompatibility with ceramics.
