Typical analytical techniques applied to polymer systems are reviewed. These include infrared spectroscopy, different types of chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, and mass spectrometry. Limitations are indicated for any particular measurement. Also discussed are techniques for inorganic elemental analysis, polymer identification, identification of inorganic species in fillers, quantification of bulk species, and identification and quantification of toxic hazards. -- AATA
