Abstract
The holdings of the American Philosophical Society's library (Philadelphia) in the history of American technology are particularly strong in civil engineering, weights and measures, and scientific instrumentation. The library collection includes complete runs of early 19th century technical journals (i.e., Reperatory of Arts and Manufactures), microfilms of original documents by or pertaining to Americans in the collections of the Royal Society of London and Royal Society of Arts, 15000 pamphlets and broadsides advertising technological innovations, and Charles Wilson Peale's working sketches. -- AATA
