Abstract
Discussed are two similar types of round constructions found on the island of Hvar, which date to the Classical Period. A small round stone hut called a trim was used as a shelter from the rain by people and animals. The other construction is a kiln for making lime; it was characterized by a vaulted or domed ceiling. The latter can be found in almost every bay of the island. The stone cutting technique is described that was used on the large Cyclopean tower, Tor, situated above the town of Jelsa and dates to the 3rd century B.C. -- AATA
