This is an effort to summarize information from the 1982 meeting of the Society of Photographic Scientists and Engineers on preservation and stability of photographic images. Emphasis is on color products and problems. Topics addressed include permanence standards, archiving literature on photographic conservation, environmental control in fostering dye stability in color materials, emergency conservation, conservator training, restoration of 19th century prints, new photographic protection products, and effects of pollutants.
