Abstract
Experimental work at Robin Hood's Cave, Creswell Crags tested airflow and smoke movement. Fires near the entrance did not affect temperatures within, but would be useful for deterring predators; fire at the rear generated excessive smoke (and condensation), indicating that only ember fires would suit habitation. -- AATA
