Abstract
The design of a moisture output meter is described; its function is to determine the moisture and consequent salt movement that takes place within the damp zone of a wall, to determine whether adjustments of room relative humidity will reduce moisture movement through a wall painting to a negligible level, and to determine the effect of surface coatings, and of lesions in those coatings on moisture movement. The sources of moisture that can affect a structural wall are described.
