Abstract
Conservation students, working under the direction of Masako Koyano, learned to construct a 6-layer Japanese panel which can be used as a support for paintings on paper, for screens, and for drying boards. The process is described step by step, with diagrams. Terminology, especially the names of brushes and papers is explained.
