Abstract
Two deposits of volcanic glasses -- Bysta, Slanské vrchy, and Zemlinské vrchy -- are described. The richest primary source of obsidian raw materials is that at Zemplinské vrchy. The obsidian is studied from the geological, mineralogical, and petrological points of view. The use of obsidian at archaeological sites is discussed. -- AATA
