Abstract
Since 2006, the prospect of an exposition at the Musée Guimet was the basis of a pluriannual and multidisciplinary training program in heritage management and conservation techniques that was suggested to Bangladeshi institutions by French institutions. A French and Bangladeshi excavation in Mahasthan allowed illustrating the operating chain from the field to the museum, and alternating between theory and practice – museums – archaeological sites. The issues were about architectural and scientific programming, condition of the site and cultural and scientific project, maintenance, preventive conservation, in situ valuation of the remains. The active participation is encouraging for future work on site, for future programming, for valorization actions for archeological sites that are subjected to high tourist erosion and for the pedagogical and cultural coaching of Dhaka national museum and main museums and site museums in the country.
