Mudmee is the Thai term for warp and/or weft tie-and-dye technique, commonly known as Ikat (Japanese for string bundles ), and found throughout the Far East, Near East, and Europe. The author describes the making of phaw mudmee (weft ikat), in northeast Thailand. -- AATA
