The Chroma Cosmos 5000 and Chromaton 707 color order systems introduced by the Japanese Color Research Institute in 1979 and 1983 respectively were compared with the corresponding colors in the Munsell system. It was found that there were considerable discrepancies between supposedly identical colors in the Munsell and Cosmos 5000 systems. Many of the differences arose from paramerism. The Chromaton 707 system was in closer agreement with the corresponding Munsell colors. -- AATA
