Abstract
62 silver objects from Ugarit and 57 ancient silver coins were analyzed semiquantitatively by means of x-ray fluorescence analysis, emission spectrography, and microprobe analysis. Differences in the silver/gold ratio and the concentration of lead and silver permit a differentiation of types of silver of different deposits. The type of production of silver from silver ores or by separating it from native electrum is also possible by means of analytical data. -- AATA
