Abstract
Since silver sulfide always is formed by a transformation of metallic silver, its removal implies a reduction of the surface of the object. Thus silver sulfide must be removed as carefully as possible. The effect of commercial silver dip based on thiourea, the use of sodium or potassium cyanide, and electrolytic treatment are compared.
