Abstract
The weapons of a Roman burial were recovered in situ and carefully restored. The soil was removed to separate the fragments of the metal. The surface of a helmet was cleaned by a micro-airbrasive instrument. Fragile parts of bronze were consolidated with Araldite AY 103/HY 956. This adhesive was also used to mount fragments on a fiberglass tissue. Also for filling the missing parts this type of Araldite mixed with talcum and graphite was used. A removal of chlorides was not necessary. Finally, the helmet was covered with a protective lacquer (Pantarol) and retouched with oil colors.
