A cape of Klara Schumann, the wife of composer Robert Schumann, was made from the skin of a swan, still covered by the down. The cape was severely damaged by insects and by numerous tears in the dry skin. For the treatment of the skin, Mowilith D 025 diluted with isopropanol was used. Areas where the down had been lost were covered with a glue (Planatol PP and Eukalin) on which loose down-feathers were scattered.
