For investigation of the origin, manufacturing, dating, and authenticity, and for conservation of art and cultural objects, different nondestructive investigative methods can help. The following cases are described in a review by examples: thermoluminescence analysis of ceramics; eddy current investigations, conventional radiography, and computerized tomography of sculptures and mummies; low energy radiography, infrared reflectography, and neutron autoradiography of paintings; electron radiography of old documents; photon activation analysis of metallic objects. -- AATA
