Abstract
Iron Age goldworking from many places in Europe is discussed in the light of archaeological evidence and Classical texts and is illustrated with fine examples of goldwork, with descriptions of their construction and decoration techniques. The interaction and influence of various societies on the goldworking traditions of others is discussed. The author concludes by saying that the Barbarian goldsmiths learned from their classical counterparts but were not fundamentally changed by them. -- AATA
