Abstract
Factors affecting the behaviour of masonry treated with silicones. Results of tests of water repellency and rain penetration in walls are mentioned. Walls in good condition show water resistance after treatment but defective masonry is not greatly improved by silicones., reduction of water evaporation rate and breathing.
