Abstract
The article discusses possible locations for finds of native copper in Europe and the forms found. The author describes experiments he conducted in working this material, which showed it to be too hard and brittle to be cold-worked. The author then describes what he considers to be the probable historic development of working techniques, and the difficulty of identifying native copper which has been annealed. Some reference is made to technical analysis. -- AATA
