The storage and exhibition of ethnographic collections need special care; documentation of exhibitions is most important in the form of descriptive labels. Arrangement of specimens in cases is also important; mounts and materials used in cases need special consideration as to whether they may cause damage to delicate specimens and whether they show the specimen to its best advantage. Experienced staff members are needed to prepare mounts and cases, etc. In storage, clubs, paddles, spears, bows and arrows as well as large specimens require racks and special storage boxes. Insecticide and fumigation help to control insect pests; DDT, PDB, and hydrogen cyanide gas are used for this purpose. -- AATA
