Abstract
The Spanish Archbishop Rodrigo Ximénez de Rada, was buried in the Cistercian Monastry of Santa Maria de Huerta (Soria) in 1247, according with the work Descripción del Obispado de Osma by Juan Loperraez Corbalán. This pontifical set has the following elements: Miter, Chasuble, Dalmatic, Tunicle, Gloves, Breeches, Tibia strings, Boots, Stole, Amice, Cingulum, Alb, Surplice and Subuculum. They are of Hispano-Arabic style, both in the execution of the different kinds of tissues as in the use of geometric decorations and parallel lines, so widely used in all manifestations of the Islamic art. At present, the Tunicle, Miter, both Gloves and one of the Tibia strings, have already been restored, and the Chasuble is at one of the latest restoring stages. This paper focuses on the conservation and restoration of the Tunicle and the Miter.
