Abstract
The main conclusions of the final report on the cathedrals of León and Seville (Spain) are reported. The study involved petrographical, physical and mechanical characterization of the building stones; description and analysis of the forms and products of alteration; evaluation of the weatherability of the building stones (quarry) by means of artificial aging tests; and influence of the environmental factors on the processes of degradation.
