Abstract
Sublethal dosages of infrared radiation were given to rice weevils. Sitophilus oryzae (L.) lesser grain borers, Rhyzopertha dominica (F.); and Angoumois grain moths, Sitotroga ceocadella (Olivier), to determine if reproduction would be inhibited. Brown rice containing eggs, larvae and pupae of each species was treated with infrared radiation at 3 intensity levels and 3 exposure times. Survivors were mated, and their progeny were observed. Statistical analyses did not reveal any inhibition of reproduction by sublethal dosages of infrared radiation.
