Abstract
The article consists of general information for the archaeomagnetic studies carried out in Bulgaria. Stress is given to some methodological conceptions, together with criteria for the reliability of intensity data and data presentation in general. Interlaboratory comparisons of intensity results from the same archaeological structures and of those from the different sites concerning the same period of time are given. Examples are given of the applicability of archaeomagnetic studies for dating and for other archaeological purposes.
