Abstract
Museum authorities and archaeologist have been greatly assisted by the use of modern synthetic resin adhesives, such as Araldite. These resins reinforce and consolidate museum objects and thus preserve for posterity articles which when found are brittle or in danger of disintegrating. The properties of epoxy resins are described as well as uses in conserving a wooden boat, a ceremonial mask, a silver bowl, a wrought-iron frame, and a 17th century Chinese porcelain wine ewer.
