Abstract
This article describes treatments of the Dead Sea Scrolls. After cleaning, the roll had to be coated with a backing solution to halt disintegration and make its manipulation possible. For this step CIBA's ethoxyline (or epoxy) resin Araldite with a hardener was applied, layer for layer as exposed, baking the scroll thus treated for a few hours in a slow oven. The entire process took about a week for each part of the scroll.
