This paper is an historical resume of the archaeological work and collections made by the Francis W. Kelsey Museum for the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, during the years 1924-1972. The article describes excavation techniques, registration methods, and conservation treatments for archaeological and architectural artifacts recovered from Mediterranean and Near East sites investigated by the museum staff. -- AATA
