Abstract
This paper addresses the technical abalysis and conservation treatment of two Javanese puppets owned by the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Historical research, visual examination, and a variety of analytical tests were used to deduce manufacturing techniques and to identify specific materials. Based on the results of the technical analysis, a treatment plan was devised and carried out.
